I have a beautiful wife: Osotsi dismisses love-triangle links to Kisumu attack
By Emmanuel Rono, April 11, 2026Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has dismissed claims linking his recent attack in Kisumu to a love triangle, terming them baseless and misleading.
Speaking to the press on Saturday, April 11, 2026, after leaving the hospital, Osotsi stated that he is happily married and urged the public to disregard speculation circulating online and in certain quarters.
“This was not a love thing, I have a beautiful wife, and we are happily married,” he said, adding that attempts to associate the attack with personal relationships were unfounded.
Love triangle trend on politicians
The senator further noted a growing trend in which attacks on politicians are often sensationalised and linked to romantic disputes, a narrative he said diverts attention from the real issues surrounding such incidents.
He added that much state propaganda is always quick to link the attack on politicians when killed or attacked to love issues, something he said is not always true.
“It is unfortunate that in Kenya, when a leader is killed or attacked, the state propaganda will always want to make it look like a love thing, something which is not,” Osotsi said.
Osotsi called for restraint and responsible reporting, urging investigators and the public to focus on facts rather than speculation.
“Within ten minutes of the attack, government bloggers were already out giving their version on how I was attacked even before my own media knew,” Osotsi said.

While speaking from his hospital bed on Thursday, April 9, 2026, the outspoken senator, who was writhing in pain and agony, expressed his frustration that a blogger who doubles as a Member of County Assembly (MCA) has been paid to propagate the love-triangle narrative.
He dismissed it, saying that the lady he was with was a staff member, and identified her as Jennifer, who was well known to people around him and the rest of the staff.
“There is a blogger who has said I was involved in a love triangle. The lady I was with is known to everyone – she is Jennifer, and she is also my staff member,” Osotsi said.
