I also have what it takes to be Ruto’s running mate – Governor Nanok
The debate about who is the best candidate to be Deputy President William Ruto’s running mate in the Kenya Kwanza alliance continues to grow as several leaders continue to align themselves for the job.
One of the recent leaders to come out to express confidence in deputizing Ruto in the August election is Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok who is also the Director-General of the DP’s presidential campaign team.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Nation, Nanok revealed that there were several leaders within Kenya Kwanza including himself who are qualified to be Ruto’s deputy.
Nanok said just like ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, MPs Rigathi Gachagua, Ndindi Nyoro, Alice Wahome and Governor Anne Waiguru who all have been named as front runners to be Ruto’s running mate, he too has the potential to be Ruto’s running mate.
The governor, however, said that it will be up to DP Ruto to choose a running mate of his liking among them at the right time.
“All those leaders mentioned as Ruto’s possible running mate, including myself, are suitable to deputise him. All those leaders have the potential to be his running mate; but we leave it to him to make that choice,” he said.
“If I was given the chance to choose the running mate, I would want someone who can work closely with Ruto and help him implement his manifesto. But he still has sufficient time to choose someone whom he thinks can gel with him and ensure the dream is implemented,” he told the publication.
