The Democracy for Citizens’ Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua has picked a war with a section of Jubilee Party officials.

Speaking during a media talk show in Kanyuambora in Embu on Sunday, November 16, 2025, Gachagua said it is becoming difficult to understand some Jubilee Party officials.

Gachagua admitted that those who used to attack him before former President Uhuru Kenyatta intervened are now targeting Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

He said, “Those Jubilee leaders were fighting me, Gachagua, instead of fighting William Rut,o who is our common enemy.”

Gachagua claimed that while he has maintained respect, others have shifted their hostility.

“My people have never called Uhuru Kenyatta even a single name because they understand Ruto is our enemy,” he stated during the heated interview.

Gachagua questions attacks on Kalonzo

The DCP leader questioned why certain Jubilee figures were suddenly turning their political guns on Kalonzo Musyoka.

“The way our king Uhuru Kenyatta told them is a nice idea, even though now they have started targeting Kalonzo. We do not understand what they want,” he complained.

Gachagua insisted that voters in Nairobi have already shown their preference.

He said, “If the people of Kariobangi North in Nairobi are saying Wantam, then why here at home in Mbeere North would you like to dress him by electing his project?”

He added that the united voting blocs of Nairobi and Ukambani are firmly behind the DCP candidate.

“Our votes in Nairobi, together with Kambas, we will give Wanyoike, who is the DCP MCA candidate,” he declared.

Uhuru’s past warning

Gachagua’s latest remarks come barely weeks after former President Uhuru Kenyatta publicly warned Jubilee officials against insulting or undermining their colleagues.

During a grassroots engagement in Murang’a on November 7, 2025, Uhuru expressed disappointment over rising political insults.

“At times I am saddened to see people on social media who pretend to defend the party by insulting Rigathi Gachagua and others,” he said.

Uhuru insisted that Jubilee must embody dignity and mature politics. “I don’t want that nonsense at my party. People should do their politics respectfully,” he warned.

He made it clear that the party would not tolerate indiscipline: “If they continue doing so, I will not hesitate to call them out and send them packing.”

As the Mbeere North mini-poll nears, the clash between Gachagua, Jubilee officials, and pro-Kalonzo factions signals an intensifying political battle.
