Eugene Wamalwa blames state agencies, hired goons for by-election chaos
The Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) party leader Eugene Wamalwa has issued a strongly worded statement accusing state agencies and hired groups of orchestrating violence and ballot interference in the ongoing by-elections. His remarks come amid rising political tension, scattered incidents of unrest, and concerns from various leaders about the safety and credibility of the electoral process.
Speaking through an X post posted on Thursday, November 27, 2025, Wamalwa directly addressed those he believes are responsible for disrupting the vote and endangering lives.
“To the State-sponsored goons and the compromised NPS Official and IEBCK officials who facilitated the attack and failed to act in accordance with their oath to protect and defend the Constitution of Kenya, resulting in bloodshed and serious injuries, you shall be held to account!” he stated

Wamalwa linked the violence and irregularities to a scheme he said had been warned about earlier by opposition leaders. In his message, he described the situation as an organised effort carried out with precision and involving multiple actors.
“This nefarious scheme we warned Kenyans about yesterday with my United Opposition Co-Principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Rigathi Gachagua of ballot stuffing, state-sponsored violence and goonism, is being executed by the Ruto Regime with Military precision and in collaboration with NPS officials and IEBC,” he wrote

He urged opposition supporters not to be intimidated by the disruptions or violence witnessed in parts of the country. His call comes at a time when some polling stations have reported incidents of chaos, forcing security officers and election officials to intervene.
“We urge all our supporters across the Country not to be intimidated but to come out in large numbers and defend our democracy that is facing its hour of utmost peril,” he stated
Wamalwa’s message reflects the heightened political stakes surrounding the by-elections, which have been marked by claims of interference, withdrawal of security from certain leaders, and allegations of intimidation.
