Didmus Barasa: I’m not intimidated in Bungoma gubernatorial race
For the past week, Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa has been seeking endorsement from residents in Bungoma, rallying support as he sets his sights on the Bungoma gubernatorial seat.
The aspirant has expressed confidence in his ability to compete against seasoned politicians. Speaking on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in a rally, Barasa insisted that he will not be intimidated by prominent names in the race.
“Si mumeskia Governor Ken Lusaka anamaliza miaka yake kumi anaenda kufanya kazi zingine? Hii kiti ya governor ya Bungoma naweza, niendelee mbele?” Barasa said, signalling his readiness to vie for the seat despite the presence of established political figures.
Speaking to supporters, Barasa reiterated his resolve to forge ahead without fear.
“Kwa vile mumesema niendelee mbele sirudi nyuma, mimi sitishiki na majina makubwa, tutaonana na hao watu,” he stated, emphasising that he is undeterred by the stature of his rivals.
Barasa’s recent tours of Bungoma comes as he seeks to consolidate grassroots support ahead of the Bungoma governor race. Over the past week, he has met with community leaders and residents, appealing for endorsements and pledging to champion development initiatives that resonate with citizens.
