Babu Owino floats possible Ndindi Nyoro partnership as strong political ticket
Embakasi East lawmaker Babu Owino has exuded confidence in a joint ticket between him and his Kiharu counterpart, Ndindi Nyoro, saying it would become one of the strongest alliances.
While speaking during an interview with a local radio station on Sunday, February 22, 2025, the outspoken lawmaker further added that if Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is also brought into the mix, then it would be an alliance to watch.

“Itakuwa moto, it will be an amazing ticket kwanza sifuna akiongezwa hapo” Babu said.
He continued expressing confidence in himself, stating that if they were to go to the polls between him and Ndindi Nyoro, then he must be the presidential candidate.
He cited recent opinion polls by Infotrak, which rated him among the most popular presidential candidates, saying he has reached that position even before officially declaring his presidential bid.
He questioned what the results would have been had he already declared his quest.
Babu Owino’s political ambition

Babu Owino has also revealed his political plans, stating that he would only serve for one term if given the chance and elected as governor, after which, in 2032, he would immerse himself in the presidential race.
Babu Owino, whom many political analysts describe as a rabble-rouser, also expressed confidence about winning the gubernatorial seat, saying it is a done deal and only a matter of time.
Linda Mwanachi
The second-term lawmaker is also part of the Edwin Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi movement, which is mainly composed of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) rebels who oppose the direction the party is taking in the run-up to 2027.
Especially the ODM Central Management Committee’s (CMC) decision that tasked the party leader Oburu odinga to begin pre-coalition talks with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). This group has come out to oppose such talks, hence forming the Linda Mwananchi movement to rival the Linda Ground movement led by Oburu Odinga.

With the Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi movement taking the country by storm and being viewed as a possible second or third force in the next general election, Babu Owino has stated that they currently do not have ambitions of running for the presidency.
Instead, he said their main focus is to fight for Kenyans at the grassroots against what they term as government excesses. Before thinking of seeing whom amongst them is suitable to vie for the presidency
