Ruto reveals 7 Chinese companies that intend to invest in Kenya

At least seven Chinese companies are intending to in vest in Kenya in the near future, President William Ruto has revealed.
In a statement on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Ruto said the companies had already signed deals to set shop in Kenya during the Kenya-China Investor Roundtable in Beijing.
The seven companies include China Wu Yi, Chongqing Shancheng Apparel Group Co. Ltd, Rongtai Steel Co. Ltd, Kenya Smart Transportation Industry Park/ Anhui Jiubao Electronic Co. Ltd, Shandong Jialejia Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Technology Co. Ltd, Zonken Group, and Hunan Conference Exhibition Group/ Hautian Hotel Management Company.
“China’s private sector has been instrumental in driving Kenya’s economic growth over the years through their investments in various sectors of our economy. We endavour to encourage even greater participation of China’s private sector into our journey of economic transformation, which in turn, will create thousands of jobs for our youth. At the Kenya-China Investor Roundtable in Beijing, witnessed the signing of seven deals by Chinese companies that intend to invest in Kenya with new projects,” Ruto stated.
“The firms are China Wu Yi, Chongqing Shancheng Apparel Group Co. Ltd, Rongtai Steel Co. Ltd, Kenya Smart Transportation Industry Park/ Anhui Jiubao Electronic Co. Ltd, Shandong Jialejia Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Technology Co. Ltd, Zonken Group, and Hunan Conference Exhibition Group/ Hautian Hotel Management Company.”
The Kenya-China Business Forum brings together over 100 companies from both countries to explore new opportunities in trade, investment, digital innovation, and industrial growth.
Ruto’s trip
Ruto is currently in the Asian country for a four-day state visit where he is expected to hold bilateral talks with President Xi Jinping to advance shared priorities in economic transformation, sustainable development, and global cooperation.
As part of efforts to boost Kenya’s agricultural exports, he will inaugurate the Kenya Tea Holding Centre in Fujian Province. Situated in one of China’s key tea regions, the Centre will enhance the visibility and market access of Kenyan tea, support smallholder farmers, and strengthen Kenya’s trade footprint in Asia.
Ruto has also also delivered a keynote address at Peking University, where he has highlighted Africa’s vision for inclusive growth, leadership, and deeper South-South cooperation.
The president will further engage with the Chinese leadership on global and regional matters, advocating for enhanced multilateral cooperation. Discussions will also address peace and security in the Greater Horn of Africa and the Great Lakes Region.
