Helium launches TeleSomo for home learning
Tech firm Helium Cloud has unveiled TeleSomo App for connecting learners with teachers virtually during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The timely move which comes amid school closure targets learners with smartphones to access the platform which connects them with other students, enabling them even to buy or exchange education materials.
The application has selected tutors and facilitators who enable students share, exchange material, while improving content, pairing learners seeking their professional skills.
TeleSomo Founder, Vincent Chepkwony says living in an increasingly technical and diversified world there is a huge gap which can be filled by technology in the education industry.
“TeleSomo connects learners with affordable and highly trained tutors who share their skills equipping them with tools to navigate their industry. Through the TeleSomo App, we hope to build a network of professionals and learners to bridge the education crisis in Kenya,” he said
Professionals who have registered their trade include mathematics, science, languages, and business studies teachers. Others include fitness instructors to cater to students’ other learning needs.
“TeleSomo is devolving skill sharing. It is fostering easy learning between learners and tutors, and the fact that it is flexible, just works for the interest of both parties. Quality learning wherever you are,” Mr Chepwkony adds.
Once logged into the app, students can also use Voice Search to find services as well as chat and call between learners and tutors in-app.
The TeleSomo App is currently available for download on Google PlayStore for Android users. iPhone compatibility is currently in the testing phase with a view to ve rolled out in the coming weeks.
