The Judiciary is grieving the loss of Magistrate Jacqueline Ojwang’ Muthoni who has passed away.

The news of her demise was conveyed by Chief Justice Martha Koome on Monday morning, who expressed deep sorrow at the loss of a dear friend and esteemed colleague.

Jacqueline Ojwang stints

Before meeting her death, Jacqueline served as a Resident Magistrate at Butere Law Courts, following stints at Kibera and Thika Law Courts.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of the untimely passing of Hon. Jacqueline Muthoni Ojwang’ who has been serving as a Resident Magistrate at Butere Law Courts. She has previously worked at Kibera and Thika Law Courts,” reads a statement by CJ Koome.

Describing Jacqueline as a person of exceptional kindness, generosity, and wisdom, Chief Justice Koome highlighted her significant impact within the judiciary and beyond.

Koome said Jacqueline was known for her warmth, courage, and compassionate nature, endearing herself to many within the legal fraternity.

“In addition to her professional achievements, Hon. Jacqueline Muthoni Ojwang’ was a friend to many within the Judiciary. She was known for her kindness, generosity, courage, warmth, and wisdom, which touched many lives,” Koome added.

Message to Jacqueline Ojwang family

Chief Justice Koome, speaking on behalf of the Judiciary, the JSC, and herself, offered sincere condolences to the family, colleagues, and friends of Jacqueline.

“On behalf of the Judiciary, the Judicial Service Commission, and myself, I extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, colleagues, and friends. As we share in your grief, we pray for strength and solace in this trying time May her soul rest in eternal peace,” she concluded.
