Former AFC Leopards captain Robinson Kamura has penned an emotional message to Kakamega Homeboyz after leaving the Football Kenya Federation Premier League side.

Kamura left the Bukhungu-based side late last year and has since been confirmed among the new signings at Dodoma Jiji FC, a Tanzanian Mainland Premier League side.

Kamura’s farewell

In his farewell message, Kamura recalled how sensational his time with Homeboyz was and pointed out the successful campaign they had in the FKF Cup campaign last season.

“As I say goodbye to Kakamega Homeboyz, I reflect on the Mozzart Cup triumphs from my time as a player.

“Gratitude fills my heart for the memories created, and a big thank you to the dedicated staff, talented players, and supportive coaches I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the past year.

“Excited for what lies ahead,” Kamura posted on his social media pages.

By lifting the domestic cup, Homeboyz secured their first-ever ticket to CAF football but were eliminated at the preliminary stage by Libya’s Al Hilal.

Homeboyz was Kamura’s third Premier League side, having played for AFC Leopards, and was also their captain. He left the club after he was stripped of his captaincy role by the then head coach Patrick Aussems.

He then joined KCB for a short stint before he left for Homeboyz. He has now left the Kenyan football scene for Tanzania, where he has linked up with former Homeboyz’s coach, Francis Baraza.
