DPP nominee Renson Ingonga reveals he’s worth Ksh300 million
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) nominee Renson Ingonga has disclosed that he’s worth Ksh300 million.
Ingonga revealed his net worth when he appeared before the National Assembly’s Legal and Justice Affairs Committee for vetting on Thursday, August 31.
Ingonga told the committee that his wealth comprises a house he currently resides in and family land.
At the same time, Ingonga, currently serving as an assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, decried underfunding at the prosecutors’ office as he called for more financing.
“The biggest problem at ODPP is funds, we are not able to meet our needs. We cannot even buy a camera for the communication department,” Ingonga told the committee.
The committee is expected to assess Ingonga’s suitability to serve in the position of DPP and submit a report to the House within 21 days.
If his nomination is approved, Ingonga will be formally appointed by President William Ruto to replace Noordin Haji who left the office to serve as Director of National Intelligence Service (NIS).
He was among 15 applicants shortlisted for the job by a seven-member selection panel chaired by Solicitor General Shadrack Mose.

Others were Jacinta Nyamosi, Victor Mule, Tabitha Ouya, David Ruto, Francis Andayi, Winston Ngaira, Peter Mailanyi, Lilian Okumu, Jacob Ondari, James Ndegwa, David Okachi and Renson Ingonga.
