Five people perished and five others sustained injuries in a road accident near Lusumu bridge, Kakamega on December 24. All the 10 are suspected to be of the same family.

According to Western Region Police commander Peris Kimani, the fatal accident happened when the driver of the involved vehicle lost control and veered off the road.

Lusumu bridge is a dreaded death trap along Sabatia-Ekero road.
