The Inua Jamii beneficiaries will receive another round of cash starting Monday November 18 following the government’s release of Sh8.7 billion towards the programme.

Each beneficiary will receive Sh8,000 to cover the months of July through to October.

Social Protection Principal Secretary Nelson Marwa said on Friday that they are running an audited payroll after over 15,000 beneficiaries who are now deceased were removed from the official register.

He said the money will be paid out to 1,092,195 beneficiaries, who successfully opened bank accounts for the programmes under Consolidated Cash Transfer Programme (CCTP) by October 15.

“We are running a credible payroll. County coordinators must ensure they mobilize information to reach beneficiaries who already have accounts,” said Marwa, in a press conference held in his office in Nairobi.

Marwa also said the new payment model will see beneficiaries and caregivers access their funds within six months after the money is credited to their accounts.

About 60,000 beneficiaries are yet to open their bank accounts but Marwa assured that this will be catered for in January.
