Deputy President William Ruto has officially confirmed that the nascent UDA party will enter a partnership with Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress party and the Wetangula-led FORD-Kenya party.

While addressing ANC party delegates at the Bomas of Kenya, the second-in-command revealed that he held fruitful protracted discussions, geared at crafting a political formation, with the duo.

He confirmed that their new-fangled coalition will hold a string of rallies across the nation starting next week. The presidential hopeful stated that they will kickstart their new political journey on Wednesday in Nakuru before proceeding to Western Kenya on Friday and Central Kenya over the weekend.

“We have had discussions with my brothers and agreed that Kenya is greater than any of us, we are going to make the sacrifices that needs to be made. We have started in Bomas and our next stop will be in Nakuru.” Ruto said.

Ruto’s entry into the coalition is however a retraction of his earlier hard stance about pre-election political partnerships. The second-in-command has for a long time prevailed upon leaders wishing to join forces with him to fold their parties and join his UDA outfit.

The DP has numerously asserted that he was not ready to partner with parties that he termed as small and tribal.
