Limping Gor Mahia FC will want to forget their recent problems and focus on getting back to winning ways when they travel away to Sudi for a tie tomorrow against their bogey team Nzoia Sugar FC with the FKF Premier League resuming after the Christmas break.

K’Ogalo are currently seventh on the log albeit with a match in hand after uncharacteristically losing two back-to-back matches.

The 19-time champions last assignment was their 0-2 loss to Nairobi City Stars FC on December 30,2021.

Incidentally, it was the first time City Stars beat the league giants in 10 years. Prior to that match, K’Ogalo also fell to leaders Kakamega Homeboyz FC 2-1.

The match against Nzoia Sugar, who beat Gor Mahia last season home and away, will prove a tough task for under fire K’Ogalo tactician Mark Harrison whose sole mission this season is winning the premiership title after dropping off the CAF Confederations Cup Competition.

Misfiring Gor have only 11 goals scored in 10 matches against six conceded with the technical bench at pains to explain the lack of firepower from their front men with the trio of Jules Ulimwengu,Benson Omalla and Peter Lwasa not as ruthless as necessary.

The Sugar Men are 16th on the log with only one win to their name and seven points in the bag.

However, against Gor Mahia coach Ibrahim Shikanda will be relishing a go to try and get points against the shaken opponents.

Meanwhile, league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz will be keen to maintain their three point advantage at the apex with a tasty tie at home in Bukhungu Stadium tomorrow against newcomers FC Talanta.

Both teams drew in their last ties against AFC Leopards and Kariobangi Sharks FC respectively at close of last year.

Talanta should offer a stern challenge to Homeboyz in ordinary circumstances given their good run thus far seeing as the new boys sit seventh on the log with 17 points.

However Ken Kenyatta will be wary of the free flowing attack from Homeboyz from the likes of Yema Mwana and Stephen Opoku.

Talanta have a slim one goal difference after conceding 13 times and scoring 14 of their own.

Bernard Mwalala’s charges have eight goal difference after posting seven wins in 11 matches and so far remain the only unbeaten team in the championship.

In other matches lined up for midweek, fourth-placed Bandari FC travel the short distance to Wundanyi Stadium in Taita Taveta County to play against sixth-placed Sofapaka.

The two clubs have a history of close ties in recent times. Both sides will be coming in confident after their respective wins against Ulinzi Stars and Vihiga Bullets FC.

The two teams are separated by a single point in the standings as Bandari have 19 points while Sofapaka have 18 points with the latter having a match in hand.

Elsewhere, Ulinzi Stars host fifth placed Kariobangi Sharks with both teams hoping the new year will bring forth consistency.

Sharks on 18 points have only one win in their last five matches, same as the Soldiers who have three losses and a single win and one draw in the last matches played.

Second placed KCB look set for a cruise as they face out of sorts Mathare United today at Ruaraka Grounds.

The Slum Boys have two wins in 11 matches played and are currently 17th on the log with seven points after losing eight matches and drawing once thus far.

At the same time, Police FC host bottom placed Vihiga Bullets in a bid to move up the log especially following their 2-2 draw with Posta Rangers FC at the end of last year.
