Uganda claims victory in Africa T20 Cup
Uganda trounced Kenya by a single run in the final of the Africa T20 Continental Cup in a nail-biting meeting at the Nairobi Club on Thursday.
In the opening innings, where Uganda had won the toss selecting to bat, they set out a score total of 125-9 in their allotted overs. Kenya’s bowling attack, led by Gerald Muthui, was on point as they restricted Uganda from the big numbers.
Ugandan all-rounder Dinesh Nikrani (41 runs off 31 balls) with a staggering five boundaries to his name. He was duly assisted in his duties by Paul Murungi (31 runs off 28 balls) with three boundaries included.
Kenya’s pace bowler Gerald Muthui (3 in 4 overs) was the star man with the ball as the game started in dizzying form with cheers from the stands. Captain Rakep Patel (2 in 4 overs) and Craj Patel (2 in 3 overs) also excited the crowd with outstanding bowling.
