Tusker keeps league title hopes alive with win over Murang’a Seals

Deogratius Ojok and substitute Nashon Balecho ensured Tusker FC’s title hopes remain on course with a 2-0 victory over Muranga Seal in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League tie played this Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Machakos Stadium.
The win saw the Brewers jump to second in the standings with 55 points, three behind leaders Police FC.
Tusker headed into the clash, eager to make up for dropped points in previous games, with Ojok proving handy with his third goal in the last six games for the title-chasing team.
The striker showed considerable strength, beating Seals’ defensive trio for the 12th-minute opener.
The Brewers held on to the lead at the break.
Balecho extended the lead in the second half, scoring with barely his first touch, having been introduced to the clash a couple of minutes before.
Struggling Seals were handed a way back in the game via a penalty that Joe Waithira skied at the hour mark.
In other games, Francis Baraza’s Kakamega Homeboyz claimed a crucial solitary goal victory on enemy territory in Dandora Stadium against Mathare United.
Brian Eshihanda bagged the all-important goal to stretch the former Shield Cup winners’ league unbeaten run to eight.
The win moved Homeboyz’ point haul to 48, maintaining its place at fifth.
Tied Outcomes
There was nothing to separate Sofapaka FC and Kariobangi Sharks after the pair was forced to contend with a barren draw in their Week 30 match-up.
The earned point saw Ezekiel Akwana’s charges move level on points with Bandari at 8th place.
A similar tied outcome was witnessed in a clash pitting Sammy Omolo’s Posta Rangers side against Bidco United.
The struggling pair retained their respective spots at 15th and 17th places, respectively, in the log standings.
This comes after Kenya Police on Friday, May 9, 2025, extended their lead atop the standings after beating Bandari FC 1-0 in Mombasa.
Marvin Nabwire delivered the decisive blow that saw the law enforcers come back from the long trip with reason to smile.
The log leaders are eyeing the maiden league title after clinching the 2024 Football Kenya Federation Shield Cup. Police now have 58 points after 30 games.
