Trucha reveals January transfer plans for struggling AFC Leopards
AFC Leopards head coach Tomas Trucha has revealed what kind of players he would like to sign in the January transfer window.
While he is keen to strengthen the team overall, Trucha’s main objective is to get a formidable striker to sharpen the striking department.
“I have told the management about some names that I want to bring on board, and if they do sign, then we can push to finish in the top eight or nine. It is a real challenge at the moment.
“We have not been losing matches or winning either. The problem has been upfront, and this transfer window, we are looking for a striker who can help us get the goals we need to win matches,” Trucha said, as quoted by a local media outlet.
Ingwe are rebuilding their squad after initially serving transfer bans that denied them a chance to get their targets. As he leads the mission of strengthening the former Premier League champions, Trucha wants the fans to remain patient.
“Our fans should not be impatient. They should consider where the club was before I came. The club had suffered two transfer window bans, and even the previous coach could not do much.
“Football is very fair. Nothing can happen overnight. With the right balance, it gets easier to pick results. We are working on that at Leopards, and then we will have a formidable side,” he added.
Leopards’ next game
Ingwe will play Ulinzi Stars on Sunday, January 7, 2023, and Trucha has praised the soldiers and their current coach, Anthony Kimani, who is a former AFC Leopards tactician.
“We have had amazing training, are prepared for the match, and know what to expect.
“Our opponents have a good coach, and the fact that he has been here longer than me means we cannot undermine them. We need three points, and so do they. It makes for a tough match,” Trucha concluded.
