Tore Bobe’s NSL bid reaches climax, Nyamweya seeks turn out in droves
Shabana FC patron Sam Nyamweya yesterday called on Gusii leaders to put aside their political affiliation and support the team when why face Kisumu All Stars in their final fixture of the season tomorrow.
The Kisii-based Glamour Boys, who have already earned promotion to FKF Premier League alongside Murang’a Seal FC, are keen to be crowned National Super League (NSL) champions if they win the fixture at Gusii Stadium.
Ahead of the clash, Nyamweya, who once served as the FKF President, assured tight security for those who will attend the game and called upon the two Kisii governors to attend.
“Saturday, July 8, will be a great day for Shabana. The club that was once a giant in Kenyan football will be gunning to win the NSL title at the Gusii Stadium when we play Kisumu All Stars,” Nyamweya said in a signed statement.
He added: “Though Shabana has already earned promotion to the top flight, the match on Saturday will be very important because it will climax a season that the players and the technical staff have given their best to take this great club from the Gusii community back to the top flight league and they will be gunning to ice this achievement by winning the title.”
Nyamweya urged Shabana FC supporters to turn up in plurality and push the team to ultimate support throughout the match.
Equally, he confirmed that there will be maximum security within and around the area and maintained that the two rivals (Shabana FC and Kisumu All Stars) will,face off in a friendly and celebratory atmosphere.
Shabanaare currently leading the table with 70 points, two more than second-placed Muranga Seal, who will face Gusii FC in their final fixture of the season on Saturday.
