Third bid by Ochieng’s lawyer to auction Gor Mahia club bus fails
Former Gor Mahia defender Wellington Ochieng’s lawyer reportedly tried for a third time to auction the club’s bus over unpaid allowances and salary arrears dating back to August 20th 2020.
Ochieng through his lawyers tried in vain to serve Gor Mahia management with the notice on Tuesday. According to reports, It’s alleged that the record Premier League champions owe Ochieng over Sh 1 million in unpaid allowances and winning bonuses as well salaries accrued.
Victor Otieno, one of K’Ogalo’s security personnel disclosed that the auctioneers visited the club’s training ground in Camp Toyoyo, Jericho with the aim of auctioning the team bus as players went on with their normal training.
Players were surprised to see commotions.
“I have tried reaching an agreement with the Club Chairman to be specific but in vain, so I have left everything to my lawyer,” he stated.
Ochieng previously played for Muhoroni Youth in 2014 -2015 before switching to Gor Mahia in 2016-2017 then joined Tusker in 2020. Gor Mahia was facing financial challenges ahead of the 2022/2023 before securing a three-years deal with SportPesa said to be worth Sh 80 million.
