The attacking duo of Violet Nanjala and Jentrix Shikangwa have been named in the Harambee Starlets’ 23-player squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Tunisia.

The pair were non-starters in Starlets’ first-leg tie in Nairobi prompting an outburst from the fans after the tied outcome.

Kenya will travel to Tunis this Monday, February 24, 2025, for the second leg of the clash scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 4:00 pm at the Stade Olympique de Sousse.

Starlets head to the clash needing a result at enemy territory following a frustrating stalemate in the first-leg tie on Friday, February 21.

The match has Starlets dominating in almost all departments and chances creation but failed to get a crucial first-leg advantage of a goal.

Coach Beldine Odemba has also included skipper Dorcas Shikobe who joins Enez Mango, Janet Mumo, Ruth Ingosi, and Tabitha Amoitin the team’s rear guard.

Youngster and U17 skipper Elizabeth Ochaka also retain her berth alongside fellow Kenya Women Premier League pair Emily Moranga and Catherine Khaemba.

Should Harambee Starlets advance, they will face the winner between Niger and Gambia—bringing them one step closer to securing a spot in the 2026 WAFCON, which would mark their second appearance in the tournament in a decade.

The team is scheduled to depart for Tunisia on Monday, February 24, 2025, in the afternoon.

The North African country poses a serious threat to Harambee Starlets in terms of their FIFA Women’s ranking.

The Kamel Saada-coached side is ranked 78th in the world, while Kenya sits at position 149.
