Shabana Starlets’ assistant coach Nicodemus Migosi is dead

Migosi served as the Assistant Coach of Shabana Starlets FC, the women’s side associated with the club, making his death a huge loss to the local football community.
In a heartfelt statement shared on the club’s official X page on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Shabana described Migosi as passionate and a unity maker.
“Nicodemus was not only a dedicated servant of Shabana Starlets FC but also a valued member of our community known for his passion, humility and unwavering commitment to unity among supporters,” the statement reads, adding that he was of great value to the club.
“His presence brought warmth and camaraderie to every gathering, and his loss is deeply felt across the Shabana fraternity,” the statement adds.
Migosi’s contribution to women’s football was particularly noted during his time working alongside the Harambee Starlets, where his focus on discipline, mentorship, and development inspired many young players to chase their dreams.

The club announced that Migosi’s body will be moved from the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH) morgue on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, followed by burial.
“We wish to inform all the supporters and friends that his remains will be moved from Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH) Morgue on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, with the burial scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Ogembo, Kisii County,” the statement reads.
As the Shabana family comes to terms with the loss, they have appealed to supporters, members, and well-wishers to come together and offer support to ensure Migosi receives a dignified farewell.
“We have always stood together in moments of joy and sorrow. At this difficult time, we humbly appeal to all Shabana branches, members, and well-wishers to give Nicodemus a befitting send-off,” the club said.
His passing leaves a deep void not only in Shabana Starlets but also in Kenya’s broader football fraternity, where his dedication and humility will long be remembered.
Migosi’s journey reminds the sporting world that passion and character define true legacy, both on and off the pitch.
