Football Kenya Federation Premier League outfit Shabana FC has announced plans for the club’s fun day and fund drive dates. This is a bid to raise money for the players’ welfare.

In a statement seen by People Daily, the community club is calling on all its supporters, friends, and the wider football fraternity to converge at Gusii Stadium, Kisii County, on Sunday, September 7, 2025, for what promises to be the club’s biggest celebration of the year, dubbed Shabana Day.

Themed “Driving the Future – One Goal, One Dream”, the highly anticipated event will bring together fans from across the country and beyond, united by their love for the club and the spirit of “Tore Bobe.”

The day’s highlight will be a friendly clash between Shabana FC and Tanzania’s Pamba Jiji FC. According to the club, the celebration will go far beyond the pitch, with live music, cultural performances, and fan-centred activities including raffles, merchandise stalls, and a meet-and-greet session with current players and club legends.

Purpose of event

According to the club’s Secretary General, Elizaphan Kerama, the purpose of the day is twofold: to raise funds for a modern team bus to enhance player welfare and travel, and to support the 2025/2026 season for sustained competitive performance.

Organisers are urging fans to turn out in large numbers, dressed in the team’s iconic red, to create an electric atmosphere and showcase the unity of the Shabana faithful. Entry charges will be kept at affordable, fan-friendly rates, with details to be announced ahead of the event.

With the combination of football, entertainment, and a noble cause, Shabana Day is shaping up to be a momentous occasion in the club’s calendar, a celebration of the team’s journey, its ambitions, and the unwavering support of its fans.

“Let’s come together, paint Gusii Stadium red, and show the world the spirit of Tore Bobe,” the club’s statement reads.

In their second season playing top-flight football after rising from relegation, Shabana FC finished 5th in the 2024/2025 Football Kenya Federation Premier League with 53 points, two above league giants AFC Leopards, who finished 6th on the log. The team has also contributed two players to the national team Harambee Stars for CHAN 2024 assignments, Brian Michira and Austin Odongo.
