Shabana extend unbeaten run with slim win over Police FC

Shabana FC kept their good form going with a 1-0 win over Kenya Police FC at the Police Sacco Grounds on Sunday, November 30, 2025. The narrow victory extended their unbeaten run in the SportPesa League to four matches and pushed them up to fourth place on the table.

Gilbert Abala scored the only goal of the match in the first half. His well-taken finish settled a tight contest and delivered Shabana’s third away win of the campaign. The result also gave the Gusii-based side a timely boost after a difficult spell earlier in the season.

Police, who entered the match on a three-game winning streak, had a chance to go to the top of the table with a win. Instead, they dropped points and allowed leaders Gor Mahia and second-placed Kakamega Homeboyz to keep them in third place. Their missed opportunities in the final third proved costly, especially in the second half when they pushed numbers forward.

Shabana, once again playing without their head coach, Peter Okidi, showed good organisation and discipline. Assistant coach Bernard Mwalala remained in charge and set up his team well, particularly in defence. Despite missing several key players through injury, Shabana kept their shape and frustrated the home side.

Police, led by Serb coach Dusan Stojanovic, tried to sustain their recent run of strong performances. They pressed Shabana for long periods but struggled to create clear chances. Shabana’s back line stayed compact and cleared danger whenever Police applied pressure.

The win now places Shabana in a promising position heading into their next fixture at home against Bidco United. The club hopes to build on this momentum as they try to climb further up the table.
