World U20 Champion Sarah Moraa has declared her intention to challenge her mentor and cousin, Mary Moraa, in the upcoming Absa Kip Keino Classic scheduled for May 31, 2025, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi.

Speaking during an interview with a local television station on May 30, 2025, after athletes press conference Sarah Moraa praised her cousin’s influence on her athletics career.

“Mary has always been a source of inspiration for me. Watching her compete and win at the highest level has pushed me to work harder every day. This race is a chance for me to show how far I’ve come, but I also see it as a learning experience. I’m proud to compete against her and hopefully, I can make her proud too,” she said.

The clash between the two Moraas is expected to be a highlight of the Absa Kip Keino Classic, which has grown into one of the premier athletics events on the African calendar.
