Kenya Police resurgence continued with a 2-0 win over Football Kenya Federation Premier League rivals Murang’a Seal in a match played in South C on Sunday, December 3, 2023.

Clinton Kinanga scored both goals in the second half to help propel Police to the seventh position, while Seal dropped to the sixth.

Kinanga shines

Kinanga came on as the second half began, when he replaced Tyson Otieno. This change had a net positive impact as he helped Police claim a crucial win against a solid opponent.

Kinanga worked hard and won a penalty in the 52nd minute before he took on the conversion duties, beating goalkeeper Bonphas Munyasa for the opener.

The home side came close to getting the second, but South Sudan’s forward, Tito Okello, sent his shot wide even though he had been spotted in a good scoring position by Kenneth Muguna.

Former Gor Mahia and Simba SC forward Francis Kahata could have stretched Police’s lead in the 67th minute, but his shot, struck by his left foot, slightly went out.

With the police looking dominant, Gabriel Njoroge, Seal’s coach, made two changes as he replaced Titus Kapchanga with John Mwita and John Kiplang’at with Dennis Maruti, respectively.

Despite the fresh legs brought to help stabilize the Seal boat, Kinanga scored his second in the 82nd minute as Police looked more ambitious to claim a win against a side that has been quite solid and lethal in attack this season.

Homeboyz, Sofapaka win

Meanwhile, Kakamega Homeboyz managed a 1-0 win over Bidco United as Bandari claimed a win by a similar margin over Muhoroni Youth at Mbaraki Stadium.
