Reigning African and Commonwealth Games 100-meter champion, Ferdinand Omanyala, has revealed his action-packed schedule for the remainder of the year.

In a statement, Omanyala called upon his fans to pray for him as he prepares to compete in several high-profile races.

Omanyala’s upcoming schedule includes the Meeting Herculis EBS in Fontevielle, Monaco, on July 21, followed by the Joskolauf meeting in Austria on July 29.

The highlight of his season will be the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, taking place on August 19-20.

After that, Omanyala will head to Xiamen, China, for the Diamond League event on September 3, before culminating his season at the Diamond League finals in Oregon, USA, on September 15.

Expressing the significance of these races, Omanyala emphasized that they carry great weight and historical implications for his career.

Omanayala’s call for prayers

The athlete shared his appreciation for the support he has received thus far and called upon his fans to pray for him during this crucial period.

“Here is my calendar for the last part of the 2023 season! If you have been praying for my races, this is the calendar we need to pray for the most because these races will carry so much weight and history after that finish line. A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps. May the Lord be with me,” Omanyala stated.

Omanyala’s recent performances have garnered significant attention and praise. At the Paris Diamond League, he achieved a remarkable second-place finish, crossing the line just behind World 200m champion, Noah Lyles.

Omanyala’s time of 9.98 seconds marked his return to the sub-10-second range, a milestone since his debut in the Diamond League in Rabat.

In Florence, Omanyala faced initial setbacks during the race but showcased incredible resilience. Within 30 meters, he swiftly regained his balance and surged forward, leaving some of the world’s finest sprinters in his wake.

These performances have solidified Omanyala’s status as a rising star in the world of athletics.
