Olunga scores in Al Arabi’s pre-season clash

Olunga and the team touched down in the Spanish city for the pre-season camp on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
This comes after the Kenyan talisman linked up with the club for a fresh challenge with the Qatari champions on Friday, July 5, 2025.
The former Gor Mahia and Tusker striker agreed to a two-year deal with the new club after ending his contract with rivals Al Duhail SC, where he left as the club’s all-time top scorer with 130 goals after three memorable seasons.
At Duhail, Olunga proved a key cog of the club, becoming a fan favourite and a key figure in the club’s domestic and continental campaigns. The Kenyan went on to win several major titles, including Qatar Stars League titles and multiple cup trophies.
His ability to deliver in crucial moments, like his debut goal in a 7-1 win over Al Wakrah and standout performances against rivals like Al Rayyan, cemented his place as one of the most feared strikers in the region.
With a challenge now ahead of him, Olunga will be expected to bring his experience, leadership, and goal-scoring prowess to help the club challenge for top honours.
Al Arabi, which ranks among the nation’s most historic football clubs, is hoping that the attacker’s arrival will strengthen their attacking options and inspire a strong league campaign.
The Kenyan has been among the new entrants for the season as the Qatari champions bolstered their ranks ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Another new signing for the club is former Wolves star Pablo Sarabia.
Pre-season in Spain
Meanwhile, the team is set to continue with its preparations ahead of the new season. According to a pre-season schedule, Al Arabi will play a total of four games.
The club is scheduled to play against Al Riyadh on July 25, before facing Union Deportiva Ibiza four days later.
The pre-season camp will conclude with a clash against Cordoba FC on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
