The fight which headlined ESPN monthly series in Johannesburg, saw Kolombo (16-1-0, 15 KOs) completely outscore Okwiri (8-1-1, 6 KOs) in the later rounds.

Okwiri was quick enough during the first round to land solid stiff jabs against Kolombo who somewhat seemed unfaced and completely relaxed. The tempo of the first however could not be maintained heading into round 6 as Okwiri seemed to be pushing through an injury.

Emmany ‘The General’ soon capitalized on Okwiri’s shortcomings and was later crowned the champion in round 8 following a TKO. For Okwiri, this becomes his first loss in his professional boxing career having debuted back in 2017 defeating Salehe Mkalekwa at the Crowne Plaza, Nairobi.
