Just like the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League, the National Super League (NSL) has been thrown down to the wire after Murang’a Seal dislodged Shabana from the top spot going into the final stretch of the season.

Seal catapulted to the top of the NSL league following a 2-1 win at the weekend in a result that saw bookmakers take a break on who between them and Tore Bobe shall be crowned champions.

Currently, Murang’a Seal leads the National Super League standings by a single point ahead of Shabana.

The match between Seal and Naivas  was highly entertaining, with chances created by both sides. Naivas FC’s coach, Elvis Ayani, acknowledged his team’s mistakes that contributed to their loss while also recognizing the strength of their opponents.

He stated, “It was a tactical and tough match considering we were playing against a top-placed team that is eyeing promotion to the FKF Premier League next season. They have been a good team that has challenged us today.”

Murang’a Seal took the lead in the 14th minute through their captain, John Kiplangat. However, Ken Mutembei  equalized for Naivas in the 18th minute.

Fabian Adikiny then secured the winning goal for Seal in the 23rd minute.

Shabana , with two games in hand, will be aiming to capitalize on those opportunities to regain the top spot.

Murang’a Seal coach, Vincent Nyaberi, expressed his determination to push his team to fight for the title until the end of the season. He stated, “Every game for us is like a final, and I urge my boys to give their all in the remaining matches of the season and fight until the last minute.”

In the race for a promotion play-off spot to the FKF Premier League, Mara Sugar is now level on points with third-placed Migori Youth FC. Mara Sugar maintained their momentum by defeating visitors Kajiado FC with a 4-0 victory.

In other matches played during round 32, SS Assad FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 away win against Mombasa Elite, while Vihiga United emerged as 2-0 victors’ against Silibwet FC.
