Harambee Stars utility player Amos Nondi has sent a rallying call to Kenyan football enthusiasts to back the national football team ahead of today’s test match against Qatar and other future engagements.

The former Gor Mahia player who plays for Armenian club Ararat has been turned into a formidable right football player, but he can also be effective as an offensive midfielder, his original position. Nondi told People Sport that their is gradual progress at Harambee Stars, noting that the playing unit is fully aware of the thirst for good results from the fans.

“There is a gradual progress at the National team on how we are preparing. It cannot just happen instantly.I would like to urge Kenyans gather behind us and give us the necessary support and we will deliver,” Nondi told People Daily Sport.

Nondi has emerged as one of the key players for coach Engin Firat having been utilised as a right-back during the last World Qualifiers and other friendly matches under the tutelage of the Turkish coach.

He has expressed his satisfaction for the high profile friendly games for Harambee Stars against Iran last March and now against Qatar.

“We have prepared well for these two friendly games and we hope for the best as we set our focus to the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.I know the nation is expecting a lot from us and so far we have had good games against Iran and Qatar which is something new since we have not had such high profile games previously. This is really good for exposure and for preparations.

“There will be a good result, there is a positive vibe in the team based on how we have trained. We are not taking this friendly game lightly,it is preparation for us to be ready for the upcoming matches against Gabon and Seychelles”.
