Nairobi United beat Tusker FC in FKF Premier League action
Newbies Nairobi United bounced back to their winning ways in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League with a slender 1-0 victory over former champions Tusker FC at the Sportpesa Arena in Murang’a on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
Kevin Otiende gave Naibois the all-important goal on the 10th minute mark, unleashing a thunderbolt from the centre of the pitch that caught Tusker FC goalkeeper Brandon Obiero off his line. The win ended Tusker’s three-match winning streak and lost their grip on the summit of the table.

In other fixtures, Shabana FC were held to a barren draw by APS Bomet at Gusii Stadium, while Mathare United beat Sofapaka 1-0 at the Kasarani Annex.
Meanwhile, record champions Gor Mahia reclaimed their top spot in the standings after beating Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0 in a mid-week clash staged on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Kasarani Stadium.

K’Ogalo returned to their familiar territory courtesy of midfielder Alpha Onyango’s only goal in the 19th minute. With the title race finely balanced, the encounter came at a pivotal moment in Gor Mahia’s season.
Having gone three matches without a win, the Green Army were eager to get back to winning ways and maintain a firm grip on the championship hunt. Gor Mahia currently sit at the summit of the table with 23 points from 12 matches.
Before Wednesday’s meeting, Gor had gone for three games without a win, having lost 4-1 to APS Bomet a few weeks ago, a 1-0 defeat to rivals AFC Leopards in the Mashemeji Derby and a barren draw against Bandari FC.
After sharing spoils with Bandari in their previous fixture, Gor Mahia head coach had expressed worry in the manner in which the team is allowing in goals through set pieces. Akonnor admitted his charges had conceded a strange set-piece goal. “It was a bit strange how we conceded the goal, and we have to go back and look at how it went in,” he stated.
