Football Kenya Federation Premier League leaders Posta Rangers were stunned by Nairobi City Stars in a match played at Kenyatta Stadium on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

City Stars, who have been inconsistent this season, managed a 1-0 victory to hand Rangers their second defeat of the season.

Simba wa Nairobi grabbed the opener in the 17th minute when Samuel Kapen scored. John Njau, one of the outstanding goalkeepers this season, was unable to stop Kapen’s powerfully launched shot from the legft wing.

The Mailmen almost restored parity in the 27th minute, but Brian Musa’s shot hit the post before it was completely cleared away by Felix Oluoch.

The loss means Rangers might lose their top position on Sunday to either Gor Mahia or Murang’a Seal, who are just trailing by a point.

Gor Mahia will play Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani, while Seal will entertain Police in two of the matches remaining for week 13.

KCB draw Shabana

Meanwhile, Shabana managed to collect a point after a 1-1 draw against KCB at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.

Shabana broke the deadlock first when Brian Michira, with an assist from Justine Omwendo, scored.

The Bankers fought hard, and in the 24th minute, they registered an equalizer through Francis Kahiro. The forward has been in good form and is a key goal-scoring machine, and so far, he has scored six goals.

Elsewhere, Ulinzi Stars managed a morale-boosting 3-0 win after beating Talanta. The win for the former Premier League champions means they have ended a three-match losing streak.

Boniface Muchiri was the hero, as he scored three times to give the Soldiers the three points. He found the back of the net in the 11th minute before the second came just after the half-hour mark.

The third goal came late in the second half, as the former Tusker man proved to be an exquisite free kick taker, as two of his three goals came from set pieces.
