Nairobi City Stars captain Calvin Masawa has shed light on their unique celebration following their victory against FC Talanta in a match held on Saturday at Ruaraka Grounds.

Masawa clarified that the gesture was a heartfelt expression of support for their ailing teammate, He insisted that they are keeping Etemesi in their thoughts and prayers, wishing him a swift recovery.

“We dedicate the win to our jersey 20 Kelvin Etemesi who is currently sick. Our thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery are with him,” Masawa conveyed through the Nairobi City Stars portal.

“As he recuperates, we want him to know he is part of us at Simba wa Nairobi, and when he is not with us, we will share our earned achievements with him,” he added.

The Saturday victory marked a historic sixth consecutive win for Simba wa Nairobi in their 16 premier league seasons.

The game featured a first-half goal by Mohammed Bajaber, followed by two more in the second half by Robinson Asenwa and Samuel Kapen, securing the first-ever home win over FC Talanta in three attempts.
