Kenya international Albert Muema says he is ever ready to don the Harambee Stars jersey if given the opportunity by head coach Engin Firat.

The 30-year-old Muema (pictured), who currently features for Austrian 2 Liga outfit UFC Schutzen, believes he has earned enough experience during his many years playing in top European leagues and could be an asset to the Kenyan squad as the country prepares to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.

“As a player, you always harbour the dream and ambitions to represent your national team during your prime career time, and I am not an exception,” Muema told People Sport, adding: “It will be great if I get the chance. I am ready to don the jersey, ready to score goals because that is what I like doing and make history with the team.”

Muema moved to UFC Schutzen from another Austrian side, FC Monchoff, and signed a short-term six-month contract. His notable performance for Monchoff came against top-of-the-table USV Halbturn, where they won 2-1. He further scored the winning goal by dribbling around the keeper and putting the ball into the empty net. Against UFC Tadten, he also scored the equalizing goal with a glancing header from a near-impossible angle at the near post for the game to end 1-1.

These performances saw Schutzen come for his services in June, and he has gone ahead to score five goals in 10 matches. He scored the winning goals against SV Morbisch and SC Eisenstadt.

“I have already scored five goals for Schutzen, and I want to continue scoring goals. The league is currently on a recess because we are in winter, but I just want to keep working hard, and I know before the end of the season, I will have achieved something great with the team,” said Muema.
