Michael Olunga-owned MOFA unveils Kenya U20 coach in ambitious revamp
National Super League outfit MOFA has unveiled Harambee Stars juniors strength and conditioning coach Dick Orongo, who joins the team’s burgeoning backroom staff as part of its ambitious restructuring ahead of a new season.
In a statement on Monday, July 28, 2025, the Nyanza-based NSL club confirmed the coach, commonly known as Daddy, will be joining the team for the next campaign.
“MOFA FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Dick Orongo as the club’s new Strength & Conditioning Coach.
Coach Orongo brings with him solid experience and credentials, holding a Strength & Conditioning Level 1 certification. He joins us from Kisumu All Stars and currently serves with the Kenya U17 (Emerging Stars) and U20 (Rising Stars) national teams, evidence of his growing reputation in developing athletic performance among elite youth players, “part of the club statement read.
In his capacity, Orongo will be tasked with keeping players fitness at the optimum levels as well as guiding the team through injury prevention techniques and physical development.
Responsibilities
Orongo, who holds a Level 1 Strength & Conditioning certification, is the latest acquisition by the National Super League side after the arrival of coach Charles Bruno.
The club on Friday announced the arrival of Bruno, with the trainer setting a target of achieving promotion to the Football Kenya Premier League.
Speaking after taking the reins Friday, July 25, 2025, the former AFC Leopards player turned coach admitted it will be a tough shout but exuded optimism in getting it done.

“It is a competitive league, and we will be here to compete. It won’t be a walk in the park, and we need to work hard every day,” he said.
While admitting to the enormity of the task ahead, Bruno reiterated his commitment to getting the job done
“As any other club, as the league starts, they aim for promotion. We have that as our objective. We know what we have to do: take each game at a time, show up every day, and try to get it done,” he stated.
The club also announced the hiring of seasoned sports journalist Boniface Osano, who joined its ranks as the Head of Communication and Marketing
Founded in 2019, the club is owned by Kenyan international Michel Olunga and is domiciled in Othoro, Homa Bay County.
The club finished seventh in the concluded 2024/25 season in the National Super League.
