Meanwhile, the Football Kenya Federation, in partnership with a local gaming firm, has officially launched the 2025/26 Premier League season with an increased prize money package to league winners.

Speaking during the official launch at a Nairobi hotel on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, FKF President Hussein Mohammed said the league will feature a prize money pool of Ksh20 million, with the champions taking home Ksh15 million, runners-up Ksh3 million, and third place Ksh2 million, down from the previous Ksh5 million.

”For the first time in years, our league champions will be rewarded with prize money befitting a premier competition – Ksh15 million for the winners, Ksh3 million for the runners-up, and Ksh2 million for the second runners-up. This investment not only motivates our clubs and players but also sets the stage for a more competitive and vibrant league,” Mohammed said.
