Bidco United’s charge towards decency in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League continues today with a tough-looking midweek match against Kariobangi Sharks at Thika Stadium.

For Bidco players, the tongue lashing they have been receiving from Head Coach Anthony Akhulia over indifferent results has finally paid off with the team turning on the heat to beat Mathare United 2-0 last weekend.

Akhulia had earlier expressed his displeasure on the team squandering chances despite enjoying possession for a better part of their past fixtures.

Going into last weekend’s match, Bidco had drawn 1-1 with Nzoia Sugar to dust themselves off after a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Kakamega Homeboyz on February 27.

However, in Sharks, Bidco will be meeting a vengeful side that is eager to appease their fans following a 1-0 defeat by Nzoia Sugar in Bungoma last Sunday.

Bidco playmaker Steve Waruru is expected to lead the team from the front as it seeks to improve their placing from the thirteenth position in the league chart.

In the meantime, Gor Mahia, who are smarting from an ignominious 2-0 loss at the hands of Kenyan Police, will be seeking to make amends when they face Wazito in the second match of a double header in Kasarani.

Against Police, Gor’s frontrunners including Peter Lwasa and Boniface Omondi heaved and puffed without success and Head Coach Andreas Spiers hopes that the duo shall carry along their scoring boots.

At Nyayo Stadium, Kenya Police will train their guns on AFC Leopards who dropped points last weekend in a 1-1 draw with Sofapaka.

Last week against Sofapaka, Leopards coach Patrick Aussiems observed that while he was happy for having secured a point against Sofapaka, he was not wholly impressed by the way the players presented themselves in the match.

“We ought to have carried ourselves better as we got several chances which we spurned. We have not been posting good results but this is far from a woeful run and sooner rather than later, AFC Leopards will be one of the teams to beat,” observed Aussiems.

As for Sofapaka, they also face a tough one against FC Talanta in the second match of the day at Kasarani.

However, the good thing for Batoto Ba Mungu is that Lawrence Juma, their marksman against Leopards is on-song yet again and coupled with encouraging words the team has been getting from the Head Coach Ken Odhiambo, it should face the remaining fixtures with settled nerves,

“They (players) have been compact and have been performing as per instructions. We have been able to score goals but concede some as well, which is not a plus. We only need to be more ruthless upfront by utilizing all the chances that come our way. I believe if we can get to be more clinical in the final third, then we will carry the day,” said Odhiambo.
