KSSSA: West Pokot’s Kamito storm finals, Kamusinga and St. Joseph to renew girls’ rivalry

Rift Valley representatives in the 2025 Brookside Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) handball games, Kamito Boys, have secured their place in the 2025 Term One game after edging Manyatta Boys in a thrilling semifinal clash at the Shimo La Tewa in Mombasa on Friday, April 11, 2025.
The boys, who were barred from the 2023 national games, staged a 28-26 upset victory against the Nyanza side to stretch its triumphant return to the national games.
Kamito will now face off against St Luke’s Kimilili Boys, the Western region giants.
The Western champions floored Nairobi’s Highway 21-14 to secure their place in the finals.
The West Pokot County side made their maiden appearance in the nationals in 2022, lasting to the final where they fell to Nairobi’s Hospital Hill.
They however face a tough asking against reigning champions St Luke’s Kimilili who boast a record 14 titles to their name.
Kamito narrowly won the 2022 semifinal tie against Kimilili.
Kimilili hammered Kamito 37-20 in the last meeting between the two in the group phases.
In the girls’ category, a thrilling battle awaits as Moi Girls Kamusinga and St Joseph Girls from Kitale lock horns for the ultimate honours in Mombasa.
The tie will settle a long-standing rivalry between the Western and Rift Valley rivals.
St Joseph made light work of Dagoretti Mixed in a 32-16 victory to advance to finals as Kamusinga beat Kadika 23- 14 in the other semi-final clashes.
