Reigning 15s champions All Saints from Embu and Vihiga School laid down their title intent with crucial wins during the second day (Wednesday, April 9) of the 2025 Brookside Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term One National Games in Shimo La Tewa, Mombasa.

The pair had joined Upper Hill School and Bwake Boys in the team for a dream start to their campaign following opening victories on Tuesday’s openers.

Western representatives Vihiga school edged Rift Valley representatives Bwake in a Wednesday, April 9, Pool B clash.

The closely contested clash in Shimo la Tewa was with organisers forced to temporarily halt proceedings over fans’ interference.

The win saw Vihiga, who claimed a narrow 11-9 win over Kisii School on Tuesday,  leapfrog Bwake in the standings after two games.

On their part, Bwake had beaten Marafa 13-9 to kick off their Pool B on a win on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, but fell short against the Westerners.

In another clash of the day, Kisii School rediscovered their form to salvage chances of getting out of the tough group with a 20-5 hiding of Marafa boys.

Meanwhile, in Group A, reigning champs All Saints edged Upper Hill 9-3  in their second game of Group A to make it two wins in a row.

The East Africa champions are pooled in the group along with Mangu(Central), Serani (Coast) and Upper Hill (Nairobi).

The Eastern representatives, fresh from a perfect start against Serani, shrugged off opposition from a tough customer in Upper Hill to claim the victory.

In another Pool A match, Mang’u High downed Serani 15-7 to claim their first win of the group.

The Central representatives will face off against All Saints in the final group match as Serani and Upper Hill face off in the other clash.

The winners from either group will advance to the semifinals set for Friday, April 11, before the third-place play-offs and final go on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
