KSSSA: All Saints dethroned, St. Anthony and Musingu battle in hockey final

Reigning Rugby 15s champions and Eastern representatives All Saints from Embu will not defend their title in the 2025 Brookside Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) games following elimination in the national school games in Mombasa.
Benson Mwenda’s coached side slumped to a 12- 3 defeat against Kisii School on Friday’s semifinal clash to miss out on the finals.
The defeat followed after All Saints had claimed a hard-fought 9-3 victory over Upper Hill School from Nairobi in a tense Pool A tie on Wednesday.
In another semi-final clash, Vihiga High School emerged as the potential 2025 favourites by cruising into the finals following a 10-8 victory over Upper Hill School.
The win cemented the Granites’ favourites tag, having won all their group games.
The Western giants made a dream start to the games, edging Kisii 11-9. Marafa was next on their chopping board before a 5-3 success over Bwake Boys confirmed their place in the playoffs.
Another upset was recorded in the Basketball games where the fancied duo of Dagoretti and Lukenya School were eliminated at the semifinal stages on Friday clashes staged at the Shimo La Tewa grounds.
Upset galore
Despite a dominant start to the national games in Mombasa, Lukenya who started off a successive victories to their group test, were pegged back 66-70 by reigning champions Dr. Aggrey of Mombasa in a tense semi-final test.
Laiser Hill piped Dagoretti by two points, emerging an 85-83 winner against the Nairobi side to punch their ticket to the finals against Dr Aggrey.
The Mombasa side will now lock horns against Laiser Hill in the Boys final.
Meanwhile, the Hockey finals will be determined on Saturday, April 11 as St Anthonys’ Titans and Musingu High school face off in what is expected to be a mouth watering final showdown.
Musingu vs St Anthony
St Anthony’s notched their berth in the finals with a 3-1 win over MPesa Academy in a thrilling semifinal clash staged at the Shanzu Teacher Training College on Friday.
Musingu downed St. Charles Lwanga Boys 3-0 to set up the date with the Kitale side.
M-Pesa and St Charles will face off in the third play-offs clash on Saturday. The match will curtain raise for the final slated for 12:00 PM
