St. Joseph’s Boys have been crowned as the national champions after edging out Musingu Boys from Kakamega County in a tense final played on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Mumias Sports Complex.

The Trans Nzoia County soccer champions stunned their western counterpart to lift their maiden national trophy, capping off a remarkable journey that started from the regional level and culminated with a historic national championship title for 2025.

Shardrack Kiboi notched the decisive goal to end coach Brendan Mwinamo and his Scorpions’ quest for the title at the final hurdle.

The win avenged a 2024 loss and elimination at the hands of Musingu through post-match penalties after the teams battled to a 2-2 draw in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, it proved a sweet ending to the football games for the new champions, who have been in fine form for the term two games.

JOBO edged the fancied St. Anthony’s Kitale at the county level, heralding their title ambitions for the edition of the Secondary School games.

JOBO’s goals were scored by the striking pair of Mwalati and Kiboi, with red-hot Instine Simiyu wrapping up the score to exert the dominance of the western-based school.

Prior to meeting Agai, the team showed remarkable prowess in the group phase with a 5–1 thrashing of Moi High Mbiruri and a 9–2 demolition of Garissa High School, inspired by standout performers like Marvin Ashihundu, who scored a hat-trick against Mbiruri.
