Kibiwott Kandie out to reclaim the 2022 Valencia Marathon

Former World Half Marathon record holder Kibiwott Kandie will be the star attraction at the Valencia Half Marathon set for October 23.

Kandie who broke the world record two years ago (57:32) will be joined by another 10000m specialist Daniel Mateiko who was third in last year’s edition that was won by Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo in a world record time of 57:31.  

Also in the lineup are Rodgers Kwemoi, Alfred Barakach,Bernard Ngeno and Ronald Kirui. 

Kandie has said that he hopes to run a good race in Valencia where he broke the world record two years ago. 

“I’m glad I will be competing once again in Valencia Half Marathon where I ran a world record and this time I don’t want to say anything but just run a good race,” he said.

In the women’s race, Vicoty Chepngeno and Margaret Chelimo will be the star attractions. Irene Kamais is also in the lineup. Others are Purity Komen, Vivian Melly and Agnes Ndolo.
