Meanwhile, Kandie, the second-fastest man ever in the half marathon, faced tough competition from compatriot Roncer Konga but ultimately secured the win.

In the women’s race, after the withdrawal of Ruth Chepngetich, Jepkosgei engaged in a thrilling duel with Ethiopia’s Senberi Teferi.

The duo surged ahead early on and maintained a blistering pace throughout the race, leaving their competitors trailing behind.

Jepkosgei’s relentless rhythm eventually proved too much for Teferi, allowing her to cross the finish line in record-breaking fashion.

On the men’s side, the race unfolded at a moderate pace initially before Konga made a decisive breakaway. However, Kandie, a seasoned marathoner, bided his time before making his move in the latter stages of the race.
