Kenya Simbas make changes for Uganda duel
In preparation for the much-anticipated Victoria Cup title decider against Uganda at the King’s Park Arena in Bweyogerere, Kampala, on November 5, 2023, the Kenya Simbas‘ technical bench has introduced three changes to the squad.
Reinhard Mwalati, Wilhite Mususi, and Walter Okoth are the three notable additions, with Mwalati and Okoth set to make their test debuts in this crucial fixture.
Kenya Simbas debut
Reinhard Mwalati, a member of the victorious Kenya U20 squad that claimed the 2021 Rugby Africa U20 Barthes Trophy, will step in as the openside flank in his test debut.
He will replace Elkeans Musonye in the back row, which also features skipper George Nyambua as the blindside and Jeanson Misoga at number eight.
Wilhite Mususi, another former Kenya U20 international, will assume the tighthead position, taking the place of Hillary Mwanjilwa.
He will be part of a formidable front row alongside Ephraim Oduor and Teddy Akala, with Hibrahim Ayoo and Hillary Odhiambo forming the second row pairing.
Kenya Simbas centres
Walter Okoth has been designated as the inside centre, and this midfield combination also includes Bryceson Adaka.
The back three will consist of Alfred Orege, Joel Inzuga, and Jone Kubu, while the half-back pairing of Barry Young and Brian Wahinya remains unchanged.
Notably, Andrew Matoka will not be part of the match-day squad due to an injury sustained during training, and Derrick Ashiundu has been rested.
