Kenya Cup: KCB and DCI advance to complete semis lineup

Kenya Commercial Bank Volleyball Club and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Women’s volleyball teams have sailed through to the semifinals of the first edition of the 2025 Kenyan Cup following cruising victories this Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Bankers made light work of Post Bank, sealing a 3-0 win in sets of 25-15, 25-14, and 25-23 to sail through to the next phase.
Meanwhile, Patrick Sang-coached DCI claimed a 3-1 victory against KDF in the final clash of the day to secure their place in the semis.
The investigative agency team showed their grit and resilience on the court, fighting back from a 22-25 loss in the first set to edge the bakers 25-23, 25-10, and 25-15.
The success affirmed the team’s remarkable rise coming off the Kenya National Volleyball League playoff where the club finished second behind Kenya Pipeline.

With the win, DCI joined Kenya Prisons Queens and Kenya Pipeline Volleyball Club among the teams to battle it out in the final four.
Pipeline earned their place without taking to the court as the reigning champions of the KVF 2025 league.
On their part, Prison Women dominated the Kenya Army by three straight sets to confirm their place in the semifinals.
Action now shifts to Saturday, July 12, 2025, and Sunday, July 13, 2025, when the women’s semifinal clashes take place. scheduled for July 12th and 13th, 2025.
The four elite and perennial rivals will battle it out for the honours.
Meanwhile, action for the men’s category will be staged on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the same venue.
Men’s fixtures
Sunday action will see the men’s matches come alive in Nyayo Stadium with three fixtures on the cards.
GSU will face off against KAPU as the Administration Police of Kenya clash against the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).
In another clash, Trailblazers will host Kenya Ports Authority at 1:00 pm before the Prison men’s team finishes the day’s matchup against Equity at 3:00 pm.
