KCA-U, Park Road close in on KHU league promotion

By , November 4, 2019

Kenya College of Accountancy University (KCA-U) and Parkroad Badgers are inching closer to securing promotion to the Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) men’s premier League.

With the top two teams in the men’s super league getting automatic slots for promotion to replace the bottom two from the top-flight league, the homestretch could not be more intriguing. Currently occupying the top two slots in the second tier league, the two sides look likely to replace bottom placed Parklands and either Sikh Union or Strathmore University Gladiators.

KCA-U increased their chances of promotion after a 4-1 win over Mvita over the weekend to take their point tally to 40 from 20 matches.

Captain Arnold Marango scored all  goals for the students in the match to move his side to within six points of Badgers. Farham Khan scored the consolation for Mvita.

In the men’s premier league, Gladiators suffered a 2-0 defeat to Western Jaguars, a duplicate result from the first leg of the season, a match staged in Kakamega.

The Gladiators are now on 10 points one and three above Sikh Union and Parklands respectively
