Tusker FC returnee Eric Kapaito has opened up on his dreams to continue his goal-scoring streak upon his return to the club following a year-long hiatus.

The prolific striker who once scattered the nets of the Kenya Premier League rivals on Friday, July 25, confirmed his return to the Kenyan top league following a stint with the Tanzanian side, Namungo FC.

His coming marks the return of a lethal goal poacher as a two-time FKF PL top scorer, albeit this time bringing more wealth and prowess following stints in the neighbouring nations of Tanzania and Ethiopia.

Scoring goals

“Scoring goals to help the team is top of my target. The club’s top priority is to win the league, and I think if I can score double-digit goals, then it would contribute towards that team goal,” he said.

Kapaito has further exuded confidence that the former KPL winners are returning to their form of old.

Brewers have in recent times been forced to play second fiddle to KPL record champions, Gor Mahia, and now, the reigning league champions, Kenya Police FC.

“Tusker is my home. I have played here before, and I have history with them. This is a big team. I feel coming back here will help me achieve my goals.

“If we can put a collective push as a team and every individual works to achieve his own targets, it will be key in deciding our chances and place us at the top once again,” he added.

Kapaito’s comments after the Brewers bolstered their ranks further with the signing of highly rated winger Yakeen Muteheli.

The winger joined the Ruaraka-based club after a stint with Football Federation Premier League rivals Ulinzi Stars, becoming the third signing by Charles Okere’s team.

Muteheli, acclaimed for his pace, creativity, and powerful shots, the Brewers’ new boy is set to fill the void following a major restructuring that saw the club release seven players after the 2025 season.

The player who has had a previous stint with Arsenal Lirhembe and Vickers FC was instrumental in Ulinzi Stars’ campaign last season.

In only his debut in the top-flight league, Muteheli was directly involved in 10 goals, scoring five and assisting as many goals in the campaign.

The feat saw him earn the nod of coach Benni McCarthy, who called him up to Kenya’s preliminary squad for the 2024 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in May.
