Renowned football coach Charles Omondi, popularly known as Korea has
vowed to dig deep into his pockets to pay referees fees and ensure
that all matches in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Nairobi West
Branch regional league go on smoothly unlike in the past.

Speaking to People Sport yesterday, Korea who currently coach’s
National Super League side Police, said he was confident of clinching
the Nairobi West branch chairman’s position during the November 23
polls and promised visible developments within his first 100 days in
office if elected.

“ I have witnessed poor management of the sport in this region and it
is high time for coaches and footballers to stop complaining from the
sidelines, but take up the management positions and make a change to
the sport,” said Korea who has also coached Strathmore University and
Kitengela Shooters.

He added: “Nairobi West had been neglected and it is now time to bring
the sport back to where it belongs. Under my leadership, fixtures will
be done professionally by a fixtures secretary unlike in the past when
the chairman or Secretary General did the match fixtures. We will
strive for transparency, honesty and accountability, and hold Annual
General Meetings every year.”

Korea can be credited in identifying and nurturing international
players Paul Were, Musa Mohammed, Patrick Oboya and Kevin Omondi
during his days at Fisa Academy, when he also paid for the school fees
to ensure they attended school.
