Harambee Starlets starting 11 for crucial tie against Botswana
By Collins Amanga, December 5, 2023
Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba has revealed her squad that will tackle Botswana in the second leg of the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) set to be played on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in Gaborone, Botswana.
Changes in goal have seen Annedy Kundu drop to the bench with Lilian Awuor coming in to start. She will be guarded by a backline of veteran Dorcas Shikobe, Ruth Ingosi, Enez Mango and Sheryl Angachi.

In the midfield, Corazon Aquino and Vivian Nasaka will partner with Mwanalima Dogo, Janet Moraa, Elizabeth Wambui and Cynthia Shilwatsio upfront.
The coach before leaving Nairobi urged fans to keep believing in the team.
“I am urging our fans to believe. It’s not an easy game but it’s not hard either in various aspects. The girls are ready, and we are trying to erase the mindset of playing on away soil. We are reminding the players that it will be 11 v 11 on the pitch; they should not be intimidated by the environment or the opposing fans,” Odemba told People Sport.
The disappointing draw in Nairobi means the home team faces both physical and psychological challenges to secure a win at the National Stadium in Gaborone, starting at 4 p.m – Kenyan time.
Harambee Starlets made history in 2016 by participating in the African Cup of Nations for the first time, and coach Odemba could potentially script history again as the first female tactician to lead Kenya to the continental showpiece.
